Spring 2019

It’s finally Spring! A time for new beginnings and new growth. At PSAE, we are also looking forward to Spring and helping our members grow in their profession.

So far this year we have had a great series of programs helping all of us grow in our understanding of our profession. In September, John Graham, CAE, President of ASAE share with us what is happening in the association world.  He shared much of the new research ASAE has done to help our organizations grow.

In November, we had some fun with “Are You Smarter than a CAE”! We played a game that was based on questions you are likely to see on the CAE exam.  Everyone enjoyed themselves.  Hopefully, it encouraged some members to consider taking the CAE exam.

In February, we showed how members can be better as associations and supporting their members.  Several of our members shared the methodology they use to determine when a program has completed its lifecycle and how to get leadership to contribute to the process of sun setting programs that are at the end of their usefulness.

March brought us Micro-learning.  We gained a new perspective on how members (and people in general) have changed their learning habits.  Again, several of our members shared their learning strategies with us.

But don’t fret if you missed these opportunities to Spring Ahead in your career! April is here and that means it is time for our full day Learning Experience.  This year Angie Stengel and the program team are bringing us “Ripped from the Headlines”. During the day we will be learning about issues and concepts that impact the Association community right now.  Look for sessions on Leadership Succession Planning, Data Security and Privacy, Legal Risks, Ethical Concerns, Engaging Younger Professionals and Achieving Success. I hope I see you there on April 10th!

Nick Stratigos, CAE

2018-2019 President
